England and Chelsea star Ashley Cole could be set to lose more than just his wife if pop babe Cheryl Cole decides to end their marriage over reports of his alleged infidelity.
While a millionaire in her own right, Cheryl’s fortune, estimated around £6m is less than half of that of £82,000 a week footie star Ashley. And a costly divorce could see him hit hard in the pocket.
29 year -old Ashley, who is alleged to have bedded an unnamed blonde secretary behind his wife’s back in 2008 and sent saucy texts and pics to both her and glamour model Sonia Wilde, is reportedly worth £14m and earns £4.6m a year from his contract with Chelsea alone. He also has a lucrative sponsorship deal with Adidas.
A Cole divorce would prove costly. Unlike other WAGs Cheryl has her own money, but the discrepancy between the couple’s net worths means she would have a very strong case for a significant claim over a large portion of his wealth, now and in the future.
Speaking just before their marriage in 2006, Fight For Your Love singer Cheryl, who shares a £6m mansion in Surrey with the Chelsea ace, insisted she did not believe in prenuptial agreements.
’I think that’s defeating the point, ” she said at the time. “We’re getting married because we’re committing ourselves to spend our lives together. No ifs and buts.’
Now with reports Cheryl might be about to call time on her marriage “within weeks”, Ashley, widely regarded as the best left back in the world, could find himself in a similar situation to former Arsenal star Ray Parlour.
In 2004 Parlour was ordered to pay his ex-wife Karen a third of his future earnings in a landmark High Court ruling. At 29, Ashley, dubbed “Cashley” Cole by the press could expect to play top flight football for the next five or six years.
In 2008 Cheryl was told she could expect a £4m payout if she divorced her husband (then worth an estimated £10m), after reports he had a drunken one night stand with hairdresser Aimee Walton.
The current record for a British divorce settlement is believed to be the £48 million which the insurance magnate John Charman was ordered to pay his wife Beverley in 2006.
X Factor judge Cheryl Cole uses snake venom to help to keep her complexion wrinkle free, a report has claimed. The 26-year-old reportedly uses a moisturising cream that mimicks the deadly serum of a viper.
The Girls Aloud star is said to have numerous bottles of the treatment, dubbed “botox in a bottle”.
Glamoxy Snake Serum contains an ingredient that copies the effect the south-east Asian Temple Viper’s poisonous attack.
The treatment, manufactured by Rodial, costs £125 for 25ml but almost 100,00 customers in the UK are waiting for orders for the product, says the Daily Star.
A pal told the newspaper: “Cheryl likes to stay looking as good as possible and reckons prevention is better than cure.
“She doesn’t need Botox yet but if there is a magic potion that can keep the wrinkles at bay, she’ll try it.
“She loves this new cream and lathers it on like it’s going out of fashion.”
The snake serum treatment is reportedly also a favourite of Supermodel Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham.
Cheryl Cole will support Black Eyed Peas at a newly announced concert as part of the band’s forthcoming UK Tour.
The ‘Boom Boom Pow’ stars have added a new show at the O2 Arena in London on 28th May, with the ‘Fight For This Love’ hit maker opening for Will.i.am and friends.
Tickets – which are priced at £30 – go on sale this Friday and will be available here.
X Factor judge Cheryl Cole was looking hot and slimmer than ever at the DLD Starnight music awards at the Haus der Kunst museum in Munich.
Cheryl sparkled in not one but two sequined outfits. To start the night, she stepped out in a stunning nude body-con dress from Hervé Léger by Max Azria, which cost a whopping $3,995 (around £2,500).
But the Fight For This Love singer didn’t stop there – she then changed in a show-stopping black catsuit, again covered in sequins, to perform on stage with Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am. The catsuit was slashed at the hips to reveal some sexy fishnet tights and her taut thighs.
Looking trim and toned, Cheryl is now setting her sights on conquering the US – and with a Hollywood body to die for, we’d say she’s halfway there!
Cheryl Cole dazzled onlookers at an awards ceremony in Germany last night in a stunning dress by Hervé Léger by Max Azria. The X Factor judge flaunted her killer figure in the £2,500 body-con dress as she waved to fans and flashed her mega-watt smile to the cameras. Cheryl teamed her show-stopping dress with sky-high gold heels, a sequin box clutch and her favourite disco-ball earrings.

Not content with being the UK’s national treasure, Cheryl Cole has begun her battle to take the rest of Europe by storm.
And boy was she out to do just that.
The Girl Aloud attended the DLD Starnight at the Haus der Kunst in Munich last night, wearing this micro-mini Herve Leger bandage dress – which cost a cool $3,995.
She teamed her nude-hued frock with vertiginous golden heels, tousled locks and that million-dollar smile.
Her red carpet appearance comes just after it was announced that Ms Cole might be appearing as a mentor on the German version of X Factor – to cleverly coincide with the European release of her album 3 Words.
Cheryl will then reportedly follow up her stint in Germany with a publicity tour in Spain, France and Italy.
First Europe. Next, the world? Watch this space…

Fresh-faced and smiling, Cheryl Cole brushed off controversy about her appearance as she posed at an awards ceremony last night.
Pictures of the singer with plumped up lips have caused speculation about whether she has used filler.
But Cheryl’s representatives whole-heartedly deny the charge. And in her $3,995 Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress she certainly looked at ease at the event in Germany last night.
The golden strapless, dress, emblazoned with silver sequins, showed off Cheryl’s slim figure.
In the past the singer has revealed she is not against cosmetic surgery. But she said that she would always be honest over whether she had indulged.
Cheryl Cole strolls through airport with suspiciously plump lips but denies having any work
She also said she has no issues with others going under the knife if it makes them more confident admitting: ‘I’ve got nothing against cosmetic surgery.
‘I mean, if someone hasn’t got any boobs and having them done is going to make them a happier, more confident person, then go for it.
‘I wouldn’t deny it if I had cosmetic surgery. I wouldn’t just come out with big boobs and say, ‘No, I haven’t had an operation!’
And Cheryl believes that imperfections are sexy on a person, as if everybody was flawless, it wouldn’t be realistic.
‘I think imperfections are sexy anyway, I honestly do,’ she continues. ‘If everyone looked perfect with a perfect face and perfect boobs, it wouldn’t be sexy as it’s not real life.’
BANKERS Goldman Sachs sparked fury by revealing their staff got paid £10BILLION last year.
Their 32,500 workers worldwide, including 5,000 in the UK, got on average £307,000.
The news comes after a banking crisis brought the world to its knees and the industry vowed to restrain bonuses.
Here financial author DAVID BOLCHOVER argues top entrepreneurs, sports stars and other celebs do earn their riches but fatcat bankers do not.
He says: “People are right to get angry about Goldman Sachs giving staff on average £307,000. It can’t be justified.
“Some people also get angry about Man United star Wayne Rooney’s £120,000 a week.
“But he is a rare talent. When he scores a spectacular goal we know the only way we can do this is in our dreams.
“So what is it bankers do that others couldn’t? Sure, they can sell.
“But lots of great salespeople in other industries are nowhere near as well paid. Bankers also need to understand complex financial products.
“But would millions of university graduates, with degrees in astrophysics or Chinese, find that impossible?
“Top executives outside banking also get paid far too much. Who says they make the difference for their companies? Maybe it was just a booming economy or the famous company name.
“If Rooney is worth his money, the value of tennis’s Andy Murray is even more obvious as he is an individual sportsman whereas Rooney depends on his team.
“And Cheryl Cole earned about £7million over the last two years. Some unknowns might sing as well as her, even look as good and be as good an X Factor judge.
“But she is the one who is famous and she is so marketable precisely because of her celebrity. No one else can be her. Unlike bankers, she is irreplaceable.
“But I think real business people are worth every penny. IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad, Europe’s richest man, is entitled to his £14billion.
“Like other great entrepreneurs, he stood on his own two feet and took risks. Good luck to his sort. They started their own companies and created jobs.
“I wouldn’t hold your breath for those bankers to try the same.”
David Bolchover’s book Pay Check: Are Top Earners Really Worth It? is published by Coptic, priced £11.99.
The tabloid press have got their mitts on Cheryl Cole’s holiday snaps, revealing where the X Factor judge spent her Christmas holidays.
The shots, published in Heat magazine, show the singer in South Africa over the festive break, where she rang in the New Year at US businessman Preston Haskell’s lavish £800,000 party.
Flying out with her mum Joan the day after Boxing Day, Cheryl hit the luxurious Clifton Beach resort for a sun-filled holiday, leaving husband Ashley home alone while she partied 6,000 miles away.
Although Ashley had to stay behind to attend Chelsea squad training, we can’t help but think he may have landed himself in more hot water with Cheryl.
The footballer only spent half of Christmas day with his wife because of football training (yawn) and was found guilty of speeding in his Lamborghini over the holiday.
Gala Bingo has released a survey today stating that Cheryl Cole is the face of lady luck. Other than winning accolades and being in the performing arts, what else do the top 10 have in common? BBC3 Psychologist Felix Economakis believes that luck is enhanced by a positive mental attitude, this observation was confirmed by the research which found that 84% of respondents think having a good outlook on life will make 2010 a luckier year.
Felix said: “Undoubtedly all of the top 10 have a really positive mental attitude, which is a key component to inviting luck into your life. Having a positive mind set will enable you to keep an open mind, grab any opportunities should they arise and keep you looking on the bright side when bad things do happen. Therefore by adopting a positive approach we can all be luckier in 2010, regardless of our personal talents.”
Lesley Hall, online PR manager at Gala, said: “We know lots of our players rely on lucky charms and take inspiration from the likes of the celebrities who have topped our poll. We hope that by remaining or adopting a positive approach in 2010, Lady Luck will shine brightly on all our players and help them become one of our 500,000 monthly winners.”
