An appearance on The X-Factor won’t have done any harm, but it’s a strong first release for Cheryl Cole and her solo career as “Fight for this Love” enters the charts at number one.
Now we await to see where her debut album, released this Monday, will end up in next week’s charts.
Over in the Album charts it’s another X-Factor influence as Alexandra Burke goes straight to Number 1 with her first album, Overcome, some 10 months after winning the contest last year – that’s almost as long as Paolo Nutini has been hanging around the album charts as #5 album Sunny Side Up now counts 21 weeks in the upper reaches.
