Alesha Dixon has denied reports that there is a rivalry between her and Cheryl Cole, insisting that the pair are good friends who “don’t get caught up in the pettiness” of rating wars.
Having been brought in to replace Arlene Phillips as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, reports claimed that the singer had been chosen to be the BBC’s version of X Factor’s Cheryl.
Now, with the two prime time shows clashing on a Saturday night, it has been claimed that there is a feud between Dixon and the Girls Aloud singer. However, Alesha insists that the rumours are all nonsense and has nothing bad to say about Cheryl.
“She carries herself with such class. I know her and she’s lovely. We’re friends,” Alesha told Now magazine.
“If I wanted to ring her up tomorrow to see how she was, I could, or if I wanted to send her a message to say that I loved her video, I could.
“When you’re a professional and you’re mature, you don’t get caught up in all the pettiness.”
