Once could have been ignored, but twice? In the first weeks of The X Factor auditions, Simon Cowell has made a couple of digs against Britain’s Best Loved Pop Star – aka Cheryl Cole.

In the opening week, Kyle, 16, paid homage with a Girls Aloud audition song. To which, Simon sniffed: “We don’t like that song.”
Unsurprisingly, Kyle got Cheryl’s vote…

Then last Saturday, he was at it again. Girl band, Miss Fitz, performed a stunning jazz version of Britney Spear’s Toxic.
It was all the excuse Simon needed to make another subtle dig at Cheryl’s band.
He said: “Girls it was clever because normally we get five girls come along doing a Girls Aloud or a Sugababes song and they disappoint.”
Unsurpringly, Miss Fitz got Cheryl’s vote… “This is my favourite girl band and thank God you came through the door today,” said the stunning judge.
