Cheryl Cole rang in her 26th Birthday birthday at the X Factor auditions in Birmingham  today and her special day did not go unnoticed.

The Girls Aloud star arrived at the venue with her footballer husband Ashley Cole who was carrying one of her many gifts.

The brunette also received a huge bunch of flowers, thought to be a treat from the Chelsea star.

Cheryl, dressed in a tiny orange mini skirt, with an unbuttoned purple shirt and dark brown Christian Louboutin heels, looked thrilled to be lavished with attention for the day.
She smiled and waved happily at waiting fans before heading inside the venue with Xtra Factor presenter Holly Willoughby.

It’s the second time that Ashley has arrived on the set with his wife on her birthday in as many years.

The 28-year-old accompanied Cheryl into work during filming last year.

The gesture came six months after the pair’s marriage was rocked by claims that he had cheated on her with hairdresser Aimee Walton.

However 18 months after the alleged incident, the pair’s relationship seems stronger than ever.

In an interview with British Vogue magazine this year, Cheryl recalled the tabloid reports about his alleged infidelity ‘horrendous’.

She said: ‘But look, Ashley’s young and he’s got a young mentality – for his age anyway.

‘He’s learning. He has a beautiful soul, he’s a really nice guy and I’m not stupid, you know. I’m really not.

‘I know what I’m doing. I’ve had enough knocks in the past to know what the circumstances are, and I’m happy. If other people aren’t, then that’s their problem.’

The couple married in a lavish ceremony in July 2006 after dating for two years.
