Both in thigh-skimming minidresses, the judges battled it out for the highest hemline, with Cheryl running away with the title in her teeny-tiny shift.

The Girls Aloud starlet went uber-chic in the embellished design, with her highlighted locks loose and luscious as ever.

As for Ms Minogue, and she chose a strapless draped number, with graphic print, and accessorised with a chunky
gold statement necklace.

The glamorous pair joined fellow judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh for the first live auditions in London yesterday. The format for the hit series has changed this season, so that all auditions will take place before a live studio audience.
