No longer at war … Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole

WARRING X Factor beauties Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue are trying to bury the hatchet as they start work on the reality juggernaut’s new series.

Dannii, 37, famously struggled when glam newcomer Cheryl, 25, stole the limelight last year and their rift was further deepened last week when it emerged Cheryl is paid a staggering THREE times more than Dannii and takes home a whopping 1.2 million paycheque.

But now boss Simon Cowell insists they are pulling together.

He said: “Girls are girls right – they all want to be the centre of attention.

“I don’t think anyone has ever ended up as best friends but they don’t hate each other. In fact actually no, I think they like each other now…ish.”

However, he admitted they’re never going to socialise outside of the show or become best buddies.

He told GMTV host Ben Shephard: “They’re not going to go on holiday together Ben, but you know, they’ve got to do the job they’re being paid to do – which is judge a talent show.

“Things have quieted down a bit – I think.”

But one rivalry that isn’t dead is Simon’s and Louis Walsh’s.

Flashing his own mega-watt style, Simon joked that Louis’ teeth have turned grey after he tried to whiten them.

He laughed: “Louis had his teeth done. No, I’m being serious. He went to my dentist, it hasn’t been the success he was hoping because where as I use a white chart, he used a grey chart and I’m being serious his teeth are straight but they are grey.”
